Tennis Lessons, Coaching, Match Preparation, Training and Conditioning

Professional fulltime tennis instructor with 36 years playing experience and 9 years of instructing, teaching, and coaching experience (over 7000 on-court instruction hours), offers comprehensive tennis lessons for beginners, intermediates, and advanced level tennis players. I work with individuals, groups and teams.

These lessons are based on stressing fundamentals and proper technique: solid ground strokes, strong net game and volleys, high percentage serving, improved foot work and conditioning/fitness drills -- a great way to lose weight, have fun and get fit at the same time!!

I work with competitive and recreational players of all ages to help them improve their games with tactical and strategic advice, drills, and hitting sessions.

Individuals, groups, adults, juniors, school and USTA Teams welcome! If you put together a group of four or more tennis players for a weekday or weekend clinic, I can custom tailor these clinics specifically for your group. Private lessons also make a great gift for someone�s birthday or holiday.

I currently offer weekly Adult Intermediate and Advanced Intermediate Tennis Clinics. Write to me and I'll gladly put your email address on the appropriate email list for the weekly clinic. The cost for the clinics is $10 per person for 1.5 hours.

These clinics cover proper groundstroke mechanics and form, proper volley technique, transition drills, interval drills, footwork drills, singles and doubles match play, concentration and focus drills, serves/serving motion practice, serve tactics & strategy, and academy games and drills. The goal is to achieve improved all-around 'tennis fitness', solid smooth fluid groundstrokes and a solid net (volleying) game.

I believe that everything begins with improved FITNESS and FOOTWORK, which leads to increased STAMINA and 'COURT QUICKNESS', which leads to a very noticeable improved 'all-court' tennis game.

I'm currently scheduling weekday and weekend lessons.

LESSONS COSTS & FEES

I offer the following private(one-on-one) tennis lessons:

1. one lesson for $40, or
2. a block of 3 one hour lessons for $100, or
3. a block of 5 one-hour private lessons for $165, or
4. a block of 8 one-hour private lessons for $250, or
5. a block of 10 one-hour private lessons for $300, or
6. a block of 12 one-hour private lessons for $350

I've decided that I'm done moping around about myself. I got this idea into my head that I would like to run a 5K. Here are the issues:

1. I have never run seriously in my life. Or even not seriously.

Experienced bicycle tourist seeking another adventuresome cyclist, age 35-45, to join him on a two-week trip through several Central and Eastern European countries. Dates between mid-August and mid-September TBD. Plan to cover between 400-700 miles in some combination of Germany, Austria, Italy, Hungary, Slovakia, Croatia, Bulgaria, Slovenia, Romania or Poland.

I'm looking for a friendly, sociable person with lots of stamina, a good sense of humor and a love of cycling for socializing, exercising and exploring new places. Interests in traditional music, foreign languages, historic sites, local brews, regional cuisine, enjoying the scenery and meeting people going about their daily lives desirable. You should also be comfortable with a leisurely (10-15 mph) pace and willing to bike happily in poor weather, especially the rain. Previous cycle touring experience helpful, though not necessary.

Our itinerary will mostly be in rural, rugged and sometimes mountainous terrain, with B&B overnights in small towns and villages and the occasional city of cultural or historic interest, e.g., Berlin, Sofia, Zagreb, Budapest, etc. Dinners in inexpensive restaurants and pubs.

Plans for last week didn't get takers and some of my gear(read as both my bikes) fell apart and I ended up not doing anything with the week. Looking to kayak from dam 4 to riverbend park from monday to thursday or friday. I have 2 boats though you are welcome to bring your own if you'd like since my second is a loon 100, I ask that you have a tent, clothing, sleeping pad bug spray all that fun stuff. provide 10 or 15 bucks toward food, garbage bags for waterproofing and stove fuel as well as be willing to do a car swap. New paddlers are okay with me, but be aware there are rapids and this will be my first time from dam 4 to harpers ferry. that said, I've done brunswick to seneca 5 times, once in a thunderstorm and several times found campsites in the dark, have spent hundreds of hours in my boat and have both medical and survival skills necessary for the whole less than 1 mile we'll be from emergency access at any time. I already have full maps, a stove, tarp, gps, cell phone bag, lamps and all the other stuff we need. There will be bugs, it will be wet, there is no chance we won't be standing knee deep minimum at some point, we will be flipping pancakes with a spork, it will be awesome. If you need a weektime adventure, well so do I, its my last week before school starts and I dont want to spend it inside, it's short notice, but it couldn't be much of an adventure if it weren't. If it's relevant I'm a 22 year old male community college student, I'm kind of an asshole but otherwise mostly harmless, I'm not skeevy or angry and I'm not going to get pissed off and leave you in the woods(I've been a counselor and all that, come on now). I am a Washington, DC travel writer who has a late teen niece and nephew coming to DC for a visit the second week of May.

I would love to take them on a tour of the White House, but unfortunately in order to get a tour, you need at least 10 people in your group. So I am attempting to put together a tour, including another 7-10 people who might like to join us to make up the minimum number required.

Preferably the majority of the people on our tour will be from Congressman Frank Wolf's 10th District (Northern Virginia), to help secure a tour, but it's not necessary.

I will handle the requests for the tour, but cannot guarantee that 1) the White House will be offering tours on those days, or 2) that we can get a slot.

I ask that if you reply ONLY if you are totally committed to joining a tour and if your schedule will allow you to show up. A number of last-minute cancellations or no-shows could jeopardize the tour. If we get a tour, it will be sometime between 7:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. on either June 11, 12 or 13th.

I will limit the tour to about 15 people.

Here's the information I will need for each person, before I can submit a request:

- City of birth
- Social security number or country of citizenship and passport number if not a U.S. citizen

We play on Sundays in a league in Bowie and practice in Glen Burnie(near BWI Airport). It's 8 on 8 full contact flag. That means the blocking is live but no real hitting the ball carrier (maybe just a little :)). We play in a league with about 10 other teams. We are looking to add good athletes who are committed and serious. The guys on our team are all very cool. No B.S. I would say the team ages range from 22 to 40. A couple of times a year we travel to different tournaments around the country for football and fun. If you like it cool, if not that's also cool.

The Montgomery County Rams Minor League Football team is in search of cheerleaders and dancers to fill it's 2008 football season. Cheerleaders on the team will have the opportunity to participate in volunteer activities, appearances, team work, cheerleading and dance camps, and cheer in all home football games. This is the perfect way to stay, or get back in shape while doing something that gives back to the community, and it's fun! This is also a great way to make new friends within the DC Metro area! All member must be at least 18 years old!
