WHAT: Competitive soccer team in need of experienced players. We are looking to tryout a few players to fill in our norther VA soccer team roster. We play in a competitive men's league using Fairfax County fields --we are one of the few leagues that plays year around, but your commitment is per season (11 games at a time). We are an open age team so we have many players in their early 20s and 30s. We are looking for players than can play at a high level and understand how to play organized soccer. If you are simply out of shape that is OK, we can work with you.

WHEN Our games are generally Friday evenings at 8PM (under the lights) or occasionally at 4PM on Saturdays (mostly Friday games though). Our season are 11 games long and so your commitment would only be 11 games at a time -- and of course if you need to miss some games it's OK as we plan the roster accordingly.

WHERE: We currently play all over Fairfax County Virginia mostly on nice turf fields under the lights.

COST: The cost is one of the lowest around at $55 per 11-game season -- we prorate if mid season.

8 week session beginning December 12th. Eight game session will begin on December 12th. No scheduled games for 12/26, 1/2, 2/13 & 2/27, though those dates are reserved for make-ups if necessary. Season will end on 2/20.

Games will be cancelled only in case of snow cover or if temperature drops below 30 degrees fahrenheit.

Individual fees will be between $60-$80 depending on number of full-timer players.

I play and coach a men�s league team in Northern VA (Loudoun, Fairfax, Arlington�) and my team is coming off back to back championship seasons in a competitive metal bat league. Due to adults schedules conflicting at times, as well as attempting to bolster our roster, I am looking to find a few more guys to add to my roster for the upcoming season. This is what I�m looking for:

1. Guys between 22-33 years old.
2. PITCHERS�above all, Pitchers are always needed.
3. One very good catcher.
4. People with real Baseball talent. About 3/4s of my roster consists of guys who played at some level of college Baseball. The others played HS and summer ball at a very high level.
5. Above all, I need guys who want to have fun, play to win and can accept splitting playing time with a great group of guys when we have a full roster show up. I need guys who can play the roles we think is best for the team and can step in and be role players if needed. I don�t need egos. There is more than enough playing time for everyone throughout the season.

Our next season doesn�t begin until the beginning of April. We begin practice in late February/start of March depending on the weather. Our team does our best to secure sponsorship money to attempt to offset some of the costs of league fees and/or new uniform costs. Our first few practices will also be a �try-out� phase for new players��try-out� both for us as a team to see what we have coming out and how they can help us best, and a �try-out� for all the new guys to see if you still have the desire to play ball at a high level and can contribute.

So while March may seem like a while away, I�d like to begin putting together a list of everyone wanting to come out when we start. I will be sending out reminders and updates from time to time and getting information from everyone so that we can get things moving quickly once we begin.

I didn't have the game to play in college (PAC-10 school) but played for a high level AAU team. We are looking for individual basketball players to participate in our Monday night recreational men�s basketball league. The session starts November 9, but the team that is available has been scheduled a bye for the first week, making the first game the 16th.

Our leagues feature eight games with single elimination playoffs, a referee, and a scorekeeper. Games are played on Monday nights with start times from 7-11:35. Individual registration is $80 plus tax per player, which will also include a jersey for the team and cover the cost of a player ID card.

I've moved to this fabulous apartment, which happens to be well-suited for hosting, and yet most of my friends are otherwise busy with gradschool, work, personal or relationship commitments. I am 26, female, fairly lightweight, at 5'5" and 117 lbs, in reasonably good shape (and quite flexible), although my gymnastics skills could bear improvement. Whenever I see couples/groups practicing partner yoga in public places, I am enthralled. I like the mutuality of movement, and the increased range of poses and depth of stretches you get as a pair. The sculptural possibilities of bodies in cooperation are pretty expansive. I assume male-female partnership works best, since the man does a lot of lifting and the woman does a lot of dangling. Champions Field House offers a year-round adult coed volleyball league on Thursday nights. Everyone who signs up becomes part of the player �draft� for that session and gets placed on a team with five other players based on skill level, volleyball experience and availability of appropriate division. (Divisions to be offered will be determined by player registrations for each session. Champions Field House cannot guarantee that a player will be drafted into a particular division.)
A volleyball skills evaluation night will be held to help ensure that players get drafted into an appropriate division of play. The evaluations will also help to make sure that teams in all divisions are as even as possible to promote good competition.

The hosts� familiar guest base dwindles during the Thanksgiving season due to family obligations but previous feasts have been nothing short of deliciously successful save for a cornucopia of remarkably tactless infractions of etiquette by a few lowbrow guests who: 1. brought �Doritos� and other Frito-Lay products; 2. lost a tooth and was not bashful about showing it around; 3. asked for plates and served other convives like it was a prison cafeteria and started eating before the host had even seated; 4. tried to discuss fellatio with the prude red-head catholic girl; 5. yep, you guessed it, wore a damned sweatshirt.

Refreshing pioneers and/or experts of any esoteric field, collectors, inventors, adventurers, marine biologists, history enthusiasts, roadie experience, comedic gift, convincing sleight of hand, Scandinavian women and foreign accents are preferred. Perspective guests should be able to provide sample anecdotes, 2 social references and agree to an interview at the bar of the Mayflower hotel (naturally). Gluttony, profuse perspiration, war crimes, boors, bores, louts, activists, political/religious zealots, kleptos, unfounded arrogance, podiatrists, prudes, picky palates, French Qu�b�cois accents and a standing height of over 6′ 4″ are deal breakers (due to low ceilings).

Selected guests are expected to wear clean shoes and dress appropriately: cardigan and corduroy for the gents; ankle length dresses and modest blouse for the hopefully busty ladies. Guests will bring a proper bottle of wine (which we can recommend) as a measure of gratitude and good form.
