I have a complete used set of NY Bar/Bri Bar Exam study books. These bad boys helped their first owner my friend Jeff and then me both pass the NY bar exam on our first tries-- they are good luck! I did not take out any bar loan and instead just used these books and self studied. It saved a lot of time and $$.

Also although they are used, and not the most current edition, I used them for the most recent bar, and just borrowed the 2009 NY updates supplements pages from a friend, it worked for me.

So if you are looking to stick it to the man by not paying for expensive bar review classes -OR- want to get a cheap way to start bar exam studying early -OR- want to use these questions and outlines of the basic subjects to help study for law school exams -OR- you like to reduce and reuse and want to save all the trees that it must take to make a new set of these books--

Condition: Good First American edition. Volume 1 has a gift inscription and owner’s name and address on first page. Penciled price notation inside back cover. Absolutely unmarked inside -- no other no writing, highlighting or marks of any kind anywhere. Paper has peeled away from the binding a little on the inside front cover; binding still tight, though. Gilt lettering on spine is a little faded. Some wear to corners and edges of both covers, damage near top corner of back cover. Substantial wear to top and bottom edges of spine. Small stain on the spine. Normal age tanning. Volume 2 is absolutely unmarked, except for penciled price notation inside back cover. Slight binding separation all along inside edge of title page, and between pages 674 and 675 on the back; binding is still intact, though. Roughly one-inch tear on bottom edge of page 417. Gilt lettering on spine is a little faded. Some wear to corners and edges of both covers, and bottom edge of spine. Substantial wear to top and bottom edges of spine. Two small stains on the spine. Normal age tanning.

Condition: Very Good It’s “Like New”, except that there’s no dust-jacket. Pristine inside -- no writing, highlighting, marks or stains of any kind anywhere, except for penciled price code on inside front cover. Only sign of age inside is the foxing inside both covers. Slight shelf-wear at top and bottom of spine, and front bottom corner.

Rubaiyat of Omar Khayyam. First and Fifth Versions. Edward Fitzgerald, translator, Edmund J. Sullivan (Illustrator) (Hardcover, Three Sirens Press, 1930?), $13
Condition: Acceptable Three Sirens edition, 193 pp. Black cloth cover, no date for the edition. Binding is tight. Corners of cover are rounded and worn, top and bottom edges of spine are worn (more wear to top than bottom in both cases). Damage along back edge of spine (about 3/4 inch). Name written in pen on page opposite contents (along inside edge); no other writing anywhere. Inscription on inside front cover erased vigorously, leaving pronounced erasure damage marks. Ex Libris sticker similarly stripped off and/or erased leaving residue and a small hole. Four pages near the front have the rough page edges worn very thin (printing flaw perhaps). Normal yellowing of page edges with age.

The Saint in Europe, by Leslie Charteris (DoubleDay; 1st Edition, June 1953), $15
Condition: Very Good No dust-jacket. Significant tanning to borders and edges of pages. Small water stains near bottom of page 1. One page has very small tear. Otherwise pristine inside -- no writing, underlining, marks of any kind anywhere. Normal shelf wear to cover (mostly corners and edges of spine).

Condition: Very Good Pristine inside, except for name and date in ink on page 1. No other writing, highlighting, marks or stains of any kind anywhere. No dust jacket. Slight shelf wear to corners and edges. Water stain near top of back cover (only to cover, not inside).

Southern Germany: Handbook for Travellers (Paperback) by Karl Baedeker $80
Condition: Good 1895 edition ("8th revised edition"). Frontispiece is covered with upside-down writing in pencil, and is fully detached, has two little pieces torn off but still in the book. Inside front cover is also slightly torn along inside edge, has dog-eared corner edge missing. No other writing anywhere in the book. Map of Minich has a dog-eared corner and a 2cm tear. One fold-out map is sitting loose in the book (between p 244 and 245). Map at the end has 2 big tears. A few pages are dog-eared (just a few). Inside back cover has a penciled 50 along the top edge, and slight binding separation. Bookmark ribbon is detached but included. Corners of cover are slightly worn. Spine is slightly faded/dirty. Gilt lettering on front cover is sharp and bright. Slight "crease" near top corner of front cover. All in all, remarkable condition for a 1895 book!

Stan Musial's How the majors play baseball, by Bob Broeg (Rawlings Sporting Goods Co; First Edition, 1953), $43
Condition: Very Good Pristine and unmarked inside. Back cover has a vertical crease from top to bottom, a small corner crease plus some light wear. Front cover has a sympathetic top-to-bottom crease, but much fainter than the back cover. All pages are slightly bent along this crease. Slight wear along spine, and very slight corner wear. Overall, outstanding condition for its age.

Statistical methods applied to economics and business by Frederick Cecil Mills, (American business series) (H. Holt, 1924, Hardcover), $43
Condition: Good Classic textbook. Name on page 1, and check mark in red pencil on top right corner. Otherwise pristine inside (totally unmarked or dog-eared). Dust jacket intact but shows considerable wear. Normal yellowing with age on inside 2 inches of page 1 and last page.

On several pages, there is slight discoloration from the glue used to stick plates on the opposite side of the page.
