The Whale Rider by Witi Ihimaera. Great little book written by a Maori author from New Zealand. Very interesting look at contemporary Maori culture from within, focusing specifically on the life of a small village and its struggles to maintain its unique indigenous culture. Made into an award-winning movie in 2003.
Book's in great shape. Some pencil markings inside, but otherwise, good as new!
