Beginning Wednesday, May 21, First Class Inc. will offer a six-week online class entitled "Genealogy Basics." Classes are released on Wednesday and Friday for a total of 12 classes. The fee is $99 including a certificate of completion.
If you are a newcomer to this hobby or just want to make a small family tree, this course will get you off to a good start. You will explore many Internet sites where you can search for family names. The course explains in simple terms where to look, who to contact, and how to use the genealogical research tools of the computer and the Internet to further your research.
Bob Moyer is a college instructor, graphic designer, and technical writer. He has over 12 years of experience as an instructor and has developed genealogy courses for several colleges. His passion for research and family history has resulted in several genealogy-related books and speaking engagements.
Important: The online courses are 6 weeks long and two lessons are released per week (on Wednesday and Friday). You do not need to be present when the lessons are released. The online courses require a strong commitment from each student as they are designed to pick up where our two hour seminars leave off. Once you enroll, you will be sent an E-mail on how to select a username and password for your online class. Be absolutely sure that you want to make this commitment as we are unable to issue refunds, transfers or credits under any circumstances (medical or otherwise).
