To Whom It May Concern:

Towards the end of May 2008, I originally ordered the "triple play" package through Verizon (complete with phone, DSL, and DirecTV, in place of FIOS). On June 02, 2008, DirecTV was installed at my apartment by a contracted agent. The agent arrived at 9:30 am and stayed until past 3:00 pm. The installation was incomplete, and the contractor came back on June 03, 2008 and June 04, 2008, arriving both nights at late night times (9:30pm) to �finish� the job he was supposed to complete on June 02, 2008. The dish, needless to say, was installed unprofessionally and incorrectly. He did not take his time and skills to install it properly on the roof, but rather stuck the dish on the side of the building, in the midst of a parking space. I stand at 5�3�, and can easily touch the dish, so it is placed very low to the ground.

On July 08, 2008 I called to have the dish moved to the roof. On July 10, 2008, a contracted technician came out and told me that it will cost $150-160 to have it moved. He suggested that I call DirecTV and ask for an �inservice technician to move the dish to the roof with a flat mount.� On June 11, 2008, I did just that and filed a complaint with the telephone representative, retelling my whole experience, from the beginning (start of June), with DirecTV.

On July 13, 2008 (a Sunday , I might add), the DirecTV technician came and told me that he cannot move the dish because he did not have the proper equipment. I asked what kind of equipment he needed, and he mentioned he needed a �flat mount.� I winced at the statement, because I said EXACTLY that when I called on June 11, 2008.

On July 14-16, 2008, I called DirecTV AGAIN and AGAIN, and retold my whole story AGAIN and AGAIN. I was disconnected, hung up on, and forced to �call back at a later time� several times throughout these days. It was ridiculous. I was on the phone no less than a half hour each time I called and I didn�t even get through to the representatives half of that time.

During the July 16, 2008 conversation, I FINALLY spoke with a �supervisor� who took my complaint. I asked her to SPECIFICALLY write my exact instructions: �inservice DirecTV technician to move the dish from the wall to the roof with a flat mount�. Janie, the supervisor, said that those were the instructions she wrote on the order.

On July 17, 2008, the DirecTV technician came and told me that he does not have �the part� he needs to mount the roof. I asked if it was the �flat mount� that should be stated specifically in the instructions, and he said yes. I asked to be connected with his supervisor, who 3-wayed me through his phone, and was told that the specific instructions were NOT on his orders. To make things better, the supervisor said that a truck with the part that is needed (the flat mount) would be coming in that evening. So DirecTV did not even have the part to begin with! I kindly asked the supervisor to call me when the truck comes in with the part so I would have an idea about when, or IF, the DirecTV dish will be moved to its proper place. I have yet to say if he will actually call.

My landlord gave me until July 18, 2008 at 5:00 pm to have the DirecTV dish removed and placed properly on the roof, otherwise, he will have it removed at MY expense.

I don�t know what kind of people DirecTV is hiring, but it sure is a heck of a lot of work and patience to wget anything through to them. I do not know if is an East Coast thing, but I chose DirecTV because it is the service that I have back home in California, and we have never had any problems with them in the past. I have spent no less than 20+ hours waiting for the DirecTV technicians to arrive at my apartment, no less than 7 hours of cell phone time on the phone with the telephone representatives, and an unknown amount of boiling blood realizing how inconsiderate, inefficient, uneconomical, unprofessional, and ridiculous DirecTV is.

If my dish is not moved to the roof by Friday, July 18, 2008, I am CANCELLING my service with DirecTV and am requesting a hefty dollar amount for my physical time waiting, cell phone time spent, and unbelievable headaches, stress, and frustrations that have accompanied my experience with them.

I sincerely hope that nobody else has experienced the same issues with DirecTV. It is truly not worth all of the neck and back aches that can result from them. I do hope that my pains with DirecTV will resolve (by my deadline tomorrow) so that all of my stress would actually have gone towards a result. But if not, here I come COMCAST!

There are many reasons why people become interested in taijiquan. Training is low impact (except sanshou and weapons training, see below) and is suitable for all ages and body types. Because the strength and power of taiji come from correct body alignment and internal energy, rather than muscular force, taiji can put women on an equal playing field with men during self-defense situations. San Shou (Free hands) - for advanced students. Students train to remain calm and yielding while facing all types of strikes, kicks, and take-downs. This class focuses on developing practical martial skills in realistic full contact situations.

Weapons Training - for advanced students. Weapons forms (sword and spear), applications, and sword free-play.

I just moved here from New York with my boyfriend--- actually, I followed him here; he got a job as a defense, language, policy person, and I'm just beginning to figure out what I want to do.

But I'm a theater person. More specifically, a playwright (and sometime actor.)

I graduated from a big name, high-falutin theater school up north, and I miss the NYC scene.
