The Supervisor is an entry-level management position with manager-on-duty (MOD) and key carrying responsibilities. When the General Manager and/or Assistant General Manager(s) are not present, the Supervisor is in charge of the entire store. When not acting as MOD, the Supervisor is solely responsible for managing his/her dedicated area within the store. Flexibility is key in this position. Supervisors may work in multiple areas of the store during each shift. Additionally, this position answers the phone and assists with cashiering and recovery.



The Supervisor is a primary source of contact for our customers. The Supervisor also manages Associates who are in direct contact with our customers. This position impacts the company by leading the department and/or store to success. Customers enjoy shopping in well-run stores with stellar customer service.



The Merchandising Supervisor orders merchandise for his/her allocated portion of the store when not acting as MOD. This position is responsible for seasonal ordering and for special orders within the department. The Merchandising Supervisor also takes ownership of back stock for related merchandise.



Essential Job Functions

Provides Quality Customer Care to all customers by handling customer concerns quickly and sincerely, ringing up purchases with speed and accuracy, and by recovering the store consistently to ensure a positive shopping experience.
Carries keys for the building. Utilize alarm codes to enter and/or exit the building.
Acts as Manager on Duty (MOD), ensuring that all customers receive Quality Customer Care throughout the store.
Manage Associates effectively by providing feedback on performance.
Prioritize resources to maximize sales within the department and/or store.
Ensure that displays are filled.
Sign-in credits and returns for vendors.
Order and release orders. Keep track of store transfers.
Order merchandise for assigned area of the store.
Oversee ad signage and cleanliness of the department.
Execute planograms.
Manage seasonal orders and special orders within the department.
Actively manage displays, end caps, power panels, and clip strips.
Maintain and clean specified back stock in backroom.
Review relevant financial reports in an effort to make sound sales/profit decisions.
Demonstrate awareness of sales trends, best sellers, and gross margin of products within respective department.
Perform other duties as requested.


Experience & Educational Requirements



Previous management experience is preferred; previous customer service experience is required.
Schedule flexibility is required. Must be available to work a minimum of 2 evenings per week and 1 weekend day per week.
