This is Virginia's only "alpine-like" mountain with giant egg shaped boulders at the top with names like Round Boy and Big Man, weighing several tons. At the summit - imagine what it will be like to see 80 mile views in all directions on a clear day. Look down at the hundreds of rare and endangered giant hawks, American and Golden Eagles, thousands of feet below, who love to soar on the warm air currents created by the sun shining on the granite cliffs and mountain face. During our exploration of this mountain, we will find caves, a natural rock staircase, several cliff overlooks and even flowing natural springs. If you can do the full loop of this mountain - the toughest hike on the east coast rated at a world rating of an "8" for difficulty, then you can climb Killimanjaro in Africa. This is the training mountain for Kilimanjaro hikers. 3,430 foot elevation gain. We will take many breaks to rest and enjoy the breathtaking scenery, going up this mountain. Bottled water and trail snacks provided.
Duration: 7 miles.
Activity Level: Moderate/Strenuous.

Cost: $45. Group rates available for groups of over 20 people.
