Hello all, this is a post about Christmas. At Christmas, we celebrate the birth of a savior, Gods very own Son, Jesus! Jesus was born of a virgin named Mary in Bethlehem. He lived a perfect life here on Earth, performing miracles and healing, teaching and caring for many. When the appointed time came, Jesus willingly offered His perfect life on the cross for the atonement of all mankinds sins. Three days later Jesus rose out of the grave and ascended to heaven to sit at the right hand of God. Christs resurrection shows that God was satisfied with the sacrifice of Jesus, and that because of Jesus we can now have a very close relationship with the Father that was not possible before. When we confess and repent of our sins, and have faith that Jesus is Lord and that he died in our place we can be assured that God sees our genuine heart, will forgive us our sins and will bring us to heaven to live with Him forever when we pass from this world. How wonderful it is to have a friend and Savior like Jesus!
Old testament prophet Isaiah wrote hundreds of years before Jesus was born...
Isaiah 7:14 (ESV)
14 Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign. Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.
Isaiah 9: 6-7 tells us more about Jesus' birth and what it will be like when he comes back to Earth the second time.
For unto us a Child is born,
Unto us a Son is given;
And the government will be upon His shoulder.
And His name will be called
Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God,
Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
7 Of the increase of His government and peace
There will be no end,
Upon the throne of David and over His kingdom,
To order it and establish it with judgment and justice
From that time forward, even forever.
The zeal of the Lord of hosts will perform this.
1 John 5:11-12 tells us that Jesus is the way to heaven and we must invite Him into our hearts and lives to know Him.
And this is the testimony: God has given us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. The one who has the Son has this eternal life; the one who does not have the Son of God does not have this eternal life.
Ephesians 2:8-9 tells us that we are saved by faith and through Gods grace. We cannot save ourselves or send ourselves to heaven. We cannot boast because Christ is the only righteous one, that is why we are saved when we trust in His sacrifice on our behalf!
For by grace you are saved through faith, and this is not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; 9 it is not of works, so that no one can boast.
Titus 3:5-7 elaborates on that truth.
he saved us, not by works of righteousness that we have done but on the basis of his mercy, through the washing of the new birth and the renewing of the Holy Spirit, 6 whom he poured out on us in full measure through Jesus Christ our Savior. 7 And so, since we have been justified by his grace, we become heirs with the confident expectation of eternal life.
So you see friends that Jesus truly is the reason for this season, and really all seasons. When we commit ourselves to Him and invite Him into our lives, He will come and abide with You and You will be saved, of that there is no doubt. When you know Jesus and begin to walk with Him your life will look different and you will have peace and joy in your heart and mind, even if things are difficult around you. I would sincerely hope you would pray a prayer of salvation today with me.
Dear Heavenly Father, Lord I believe that You love me and sent Jesus to die for my sins and to be my savior. Please forgive me of my sin and come into my life through Your Son Jesus. In His name I pray, amen!
