KaBOOM! (www.kaboom.org) is a national nonprofit that believes every child deserves a great place to play and we are seeking a talented and experienced professional for our Director of Cause Marketing. The Director of Cause Marketing is a multi-dimensional role reporting to the VP, Corporate Development and will simultaneously serve as an
individual revenue contributor,
a thought leader that can position KaBOOM! among the top tier of causes that leverage their brands in cause related marketing (CRM) activities,
a strategic planner that can help develop short and long range strategic plans for CRM engagement,
a mentor that can guide colleagues and build skills across the department in order to expand the KaBOOM! in-house capacity to effectively identify, close and execute marketing initiatives with major US brands.
Key Functions include:
Conduct thorough, proactive territorial planning to keep a vigorous, long range CRM pipeline.
Produce high quality reports that indicate progress, issues and insights into CRM evolving opportunities for KaBOOM!.
Continually update personal knowledge of the latest CRM trends and transfer this knowledge to colleagues in Corporate Development on an ongoing basis.
Position KaBOOM! effectively relative to alternative (or competitive) cause partners.
Network effectively within the CRM community and the broader advertising and marketing industry.
Qualifications:
BA degree in Marketing or closely related field. Advanced marketing degree is highly desirable.
Minimum 5 years experience in nonprofit resource development or in a consultative selling role working with major companies and causes.
Proven track record of gaining corporate and agency commitment to successful CRM programs.
Some direct corporate marketing or agency experience is highly desirable.
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Outstanding business presentation skills.
Excellent organizational skills and ability to take initiative and problem solve.
Strong interpersonal skills and a customer service mentality are a must.
Individuals applying should be able to manage responsibilities and meet deadlines.
Must possess excellent computer skills and be adept at word processing, excel and database management.
Position is located in Washington, DC
20- 40% travel is required.
