Direct Mail/Membership Marketing Manager
Position Description
The Direct Mail/Membership Marketing manager will manage the day-to-day operations of the organization’s direct mail fundraising program efforts. Additionally, this position will assist with all aspects of the online giving and member/donor cultivation efforts.
Specifically:
• Working with the Development Director, expand the direct mail program to include reaching new audiences, optimizing direct mail packages, increasing revenue generated through the direct mail program
• Develop and manage the most optimal mail plan for direct mail program
• Develop and monitor the direct mail program budget in accordance with the overall development department budget and organization budget
• Research and select vendors for the direct mail program, serve as primary liaison, monitor contracts and evaluate the vendor’s performance
• Oversee donor/member database to ensure all information in the database is up to date and accurate and serve as the liaison to database vendor
• Respond to member comments, questions, and requests via email, phone, or regular mail
Position requires a Bachelor's degree, demonstrated experience in managing direct-mail programs and operations; database management for charitable organizations; excellent verbal communication skills; excellent organizational, analytical and interpersonal skills; ability to work as part of a team; capability to think strategically; high level of initiative and motivation; follow through on projects; maturity, personal flexibility and sense of humor.
