A major commercial art gallery in the Dupont Circle neighborhood seeks a temporary, part time gallery assistant to work November 10-18 and possibly beyond. Hours are 11:00-5:30 PM.
Responsibilities include: answering phones, engaging with gallery visitors, discussing art on display, and some document coding for an ongoing research project.
Outgoing personality, and ability to engage with potential buyers is a must.
Prior experience in a gallery or museum, even as a volunteer, is a plus. Some knowledge of art history is helpful.
This is perfect for recent college graduates in DC looking for a job.
