$800 Bedroom available in renovated 2 BR/2 BA condo (Shaw) (map)
Good-sized, unfurnished bedroom available starting June 1 in recently renovated two-bedroom condo. The condo has two bathrooms, too, so you essentially get one for yourself.
The condo was completely renovated in 2006, so it includes all the amenities you might expect in such a new place: hardwood floors, granite counters and stainless steel appliances in the kitchen, central heat and air, a dishwasher, a washer and dryer, a balcony, a skylight and an intercom system. The condo is spacious, with two levels; my bedroom and bathroom are upstairs and yours are downstairs, so there’s quite a bit of privacy. (In addition, I work evenings and weekends, so assuming you have even somewhat normal hours, it’s going to seem like having your own place a lot.)
The condo is located in the hot, rapidly transforming Shaw area. It’s less than two blocks from Metro and just a few blocks from a Giant grocery store and the restaurants, bars, clubs and shops of U Street and Logan Circle. Dupont Circle, Adams Morgan, Gallery Place/Chinatown and downtown are all walkable or an easy drive, bike ride or bus ride. And Target, Best Buy and other stores are a quick trip (two stops away) on the Green and Yellow lines.
I’m a responsible, laidback professional guy in my 20s. I’ve lived with roommates virtually continuously since college and have had very few problems, so I would say I’m even-tempered and easy to get along with. I’ve lived in D.C. for four years and recently decided it was time to buy my own place.
Rent is $800 a month, plus half of utilities, which will include cable and wireless broadband Internet; deposit is equal to one month’s rent. You must be able to pass a credit and reference check and be gay-friendly. Summer housing is possible. I’m unable to show the place until I formally take possession of it in late May, but if this fits your time frame and you’re interested, let me know.
