The apartment is on Longfellow Street, NW. It's about 3 blocks to Georgia Avenue, and 2 to Missouri. Both are major bus routes. It's about a 20-25 minute walk to the Petworth station, or a 5-10 minute bus ride. The Missouri buses go between the Ft. Totten and Friendship Heights stations. There's plenty of unzoned parking out front.
The room is just over 10 X 13 with a large closet. It faces south and is on the top floor. The bedroom is carpeted and unfurnished. There are hardwood floors in the common areas, and the kitchen and bathrooms are tile. You'd have your own bathroom. There's a large kitchen, and all of the appliances are newish (less than 5 years) and in excellent condition. The living/dining area is good sized as well. And the great thing about this apartment is the layout - the bedrooms are on opposite sides of the common areas, which gives everyone some privacy. There are washers and dryers in the basement (4 each). It's free for residents, and I tell myself that being able to wash all my loads at once compensates for having to lug the basket downstairs. The laundry room is clean and well lit. The building also has a bike room.
As for me - I'm a sane, professional, non-smoking, 29 year old female. No pets. I travel a fair amount with my job. I consider myself fairly low maintenance. I have a couple of pet peeves, but other than those am pretty laid back. I don't like rodents or bugs. At all. As long as you don't attract them, we'll get along fine.
As for the type of roommate I'm looking for: you should also be sane (or if you're insane, it needs to be the entertaining and funny kind, not the dangerous or expecting your roommate to be your mental health professional kind), employed, pet free, and hopefully non-smoking. I don't care if you're male or female.
The utilities will be split in half. They include cable, internet, and electricity. The room is available anytime after June 3.
