The Room/Bathroom:
The room for rent has a small walk in closet with a decent amount of
built in shelving. The room is small but large enough to accommodate a
queen size bed, dresser and a few other pieces. The room has high
ceilings with large windows. It's painted a simple and classic light
grey color (you may choose to paint so long as your return it to the
original color upon leaving). The bathroom that corresponds to this
bedroom is located down stairs, but is pretty much yours as my
bathroom is attached to my bedroom.
Neighborhood:
The apartment is about a 20 minute walk from Union Station and about a
15 minute walk from the Senate Office Buildings (ideal for a Hill
Staffer). I have a car and street parking has never been a problem.
The area is a good fit for someone with a car or someone that bikes.
I personally love the neighborhood. We have a 7/11 at the corner.
Across the street are Kennys BBQ and Drycleaner. What's even better is
Jacobs Coffee House right around the corner! There is a Christian
Private School around the other corner. The apartment also sits about
3 blocks from Stanton Park and 4 blocks form Massachusetts Ave. and
all the restaurants/bars located there.
Me:
I'm 22/f; I work on the Hill for a Congressman from Arkansas. I went
to school at a private Christian University in Arkansas but I'm
originally from the West Coast. I moved to DC after school and I've
been here a little over a year now. I'm a busy girl and I'm not home
a lot. As a roommate I'm pretty laid back. I like to keep the common
areas clean. If something bothers me I mention it in a silly way and
expect enough respect that it doesn't become a consistent problem. I
DVR Greys, The Bachelor and the Hills. I'm a white wine drinker and I
love girl’s movie nights. Most importantly, I'm a big Sex
and the City Fan.
The Ideal Roommate: Is laid back, mature, similar in age, flexible,
Friendly and works in the political arena. I'd like to live with
someone similar to myself whom I could eventually consider not only a
roommate but a friend. If you’re interested, e-mail me with the following
