ABOUT ME: I am looking to move to the DC area (from out of state) some time between mid Nov-Dec. I currently live alone but have lived with 1-3 other girls for 4 years. The room doesnt have to be too large-but not too small, would like a decent sized closet (I have a ridiculous amount of shoes) but thats not too important. I would like to be within a reasonable walking distance to the metro-although I have a car, what's the point of living in the city and driving? Thats a MAJOR PLUS. Other than that Im not too picky. I have (nice) full furnishings, but could easily use yours-if its already furnished. Guess it depends on the situation. Safe neighborhood is important and really want a decent place overall. I will be moving to D.C. as an intern for the Spring semester and I need a place to live! I am a 25 year old woman, currently in law school in Texas. About my dog: He is a one and a half year old English Springer Spaniel. He is completely house broken and does not have problems "going" in the house. He has a pretty good compliment of tricks he can do right now, and is fairly responsive to commands. All of his vaccinations are current and medical records are available per request. I am looking for a roommate to share a house in Takoma/Takoma Park near the metro. I have a 4 yr old medium sized female dog and think it would be ideal to find a roomie who has a similarly or larger sized dog that she could play with during the day (she gets lonely while I'm at work). Cats are okay too (I love them) and she's lived with cats before just not as good playmates for pooches! And small toy-sized dogs would not work at all (they're too delicate).

About me: I'm in my early 30's, work for a progressive non-profit downtown, very laid-back and friendly. On the bookish-quiet side. Bicycle-friendly.

I'm looking for someone who's not uptight about how spotless the house is (I leave things out a lot but try to keep the kitchen clean) and doesn't mind having a very politically active roommate.
