LECG is seeking a Senior Consultant to work in its Washington, D.C office. The Senior Consultant will be responsible for organizing sensitive data and will perform analysis tasks using a variety of digital forensics tools. Primary responsibilities include forensic investigation/analysis, advanced incident handling, intelligence gathering, forensic research, and formal incident investigation.
Responsibilities:
Examine and perform comprehensive and technical analysis of digital evidence, such as e-mail, user created data files, and other information stored on computer device(s) during an investigation or legal proceeding.
Assist in corporate information security standards and guidelines development and deployment ranging from network security to internet and application usage standards and guidelines.
Provide operational and administrative support to the EDP group in configuring hardware, software and managing inventories aside from digital forensic analysis.
Ensure that evidence collection methods are documented, computer imaging practices, and other digital forensic methodologies are consistent in order to preserve and protect evidence.
Test and verify hardware and software used during examinations.
Perform research when required to remain proficient in data recovery operations, computer forensic methodologies, and monitor relevant progressions in the digital forensics field.
Perform test and evaluation of computer and network systems, methods and procedures used to verify and validate computer forensic methods.
Conduct regular intelligence gathering to proactively address threats to the organization.
Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited university
Minimum of 5+ years applied experience in a related field
Experience in: EnCase (v.5x or later), as well as familiarity with FTK, PRTK, ProDiscover, Paraben and other forensic tools and applications.
A+ Certification (Desired)
Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and Outlook)
Network Fundamentals (Desired)
Consulting Experience (Desired)
