We are planning a Christmas Eve celebration with music, acting and talent of all sorts. This will be in a church, but will not be any of the old dusty “church-y” stuff. We want about a two hour presentation which will entertain, excite, educate, inspire. We are a very liberal organization which wants to present the wonderful spiritual beauty of the Jesus birth, without all the accumulated debris of the centuries.
While we can’t pay for talent, hopefully this would be a performance which would broaden your artistic experience, while at the same time adding meaning and insight to your own personal life and enjoyment of the Christmas season.
We would like singers, bands, musicians, directors, set makers, actors, producers and any talent you might think could contribute to this wonderful evening. Auditions will be held so that we can see what kind of talent might offer itself, and then to see how it might all fit together. Come and show us what you can do. We have a piano and an organ on site, but anything else you would have to bring yourself. Dramatic readings interspersed with music (either sung by talent or chorally by the participants) will be woven around the spiritual meaning of Christmas, rather than by the same old literal stories (most of which are not literally true).
