Dupont-Kalorama Museums Consortium Calls for Volunteers!
The 25th Annual Dupont-Kalorama Museums Walk Weekend
Saturday, June 6 & Sunday, June 7, 2008
Do you love museums? Want to give back to the
community? Enjoy sharing your knowledge of the Dupont
Circle/Kalorama neighborhood? Join us as a volunteer for
the Dupont-Kalorama Museums Consortium (DKMC)’s
25th Annual Dupont-Kalorama Museum Walk Weekend!
Volunteers are needed for two-hour shifts to distribute
event brochures and maps at both exits of the Dupont
Circle Metro station and at a table in the park at the circle.
The event occurs rain or shine and volunteers will be standing
outside to greet visitors for the duration of their shift.
No prior knowledge or experience is necessary, although
an interest in the history and culture of Dupont Circle/
Kalorama area and/or the participating museums would
be helpful. Volunteers who donate an entire day (three
shifts on Saturday or two shifts on Sunday) will receive a
coupon to The Textile Museum Shop, as well as the enjoyment
and satisfaction of contributing to one of the city’s
longest-running neighborhood cultural festivals.

The eight participating museums are Anderson House (The Society of the Cincinnati), Fondo del Sol Visual Arts Center, Mary McLeod Bethune Council House National Historic Site, Meridian International Center, National Museum of American Jewish Military History, The Phillips Collection, The Textile Museum and Woodrow Wilson House.
