POLITICO.com is seeking a mobile application developer for a full time position located in Arlington, VA. The successful candidate will be fluent in mobile technologies and possess 3-5 years of professional programming experience.
Responsibilities include contributing to the conception, ideas and functionality behind the mobile apps that POLITICO will produce. Responsibilities also include development of new projects as well as maintaining existing media related applications. Additional duties include testing/debugging code as well as interfacing with clients on a regular basis.
This is a great opportunity for the successful candidate to work on a wide variety of projects which are very much in the public eye. POLITICO is a very high traffic, high profile website dedicated to covering Political news.
Candidate reports to the Chief Technology Officer
Qualifications:
Candidate must have experience with at least one of the following devices/environments/API*s: iPhone, Blackberry, Android, Palm. Web development experience a plus. Languages to include Objective C, Java, HTML, Javascript. Must be familiar with third party API integration.
A working knowledge of relational database design and development is a must. Candidate must understand Web 2.0 methodologies and technologies.
Candidate must be an effective communicator, be well organized, and possess the ability to work in a fast paced news based environment.
