Information Architect
Duties and responsibilities: Major responsibilities include the analysis of new content to determine site structure, organization, navigation systems, and layout. Aggregates content and document inventories. Develops site diagrams, wire frames for hand off to web designer/developer. Works collaboratively with developer to ensure site architecture is implemented according to specification. Other duties include analysis of existing page/site content and development of site architectures for conversion into the standard Web design and architecture. Reviews, assesses, and documents site inventories. Validates templates and site implementation against approved architecture.
Education and Experience: Degree in Computer or Information Science preferred, but may be supplemented by 5-10 years of experience as an information architect on mid to large scale Web sites. Strong organization skills, advanced knowledge of metadata schemes, standards, and technologies.
* Information Architecture and Graphic Interface Design experience (with examples)
* Fluency with web standards and technologies, including: CSS, HTML, JavaScript, JSP.
* Experience with the full product development life cycle.
* Creative Problem Solving skills
* Ability to work independently as well as part of a cross-functional team
* Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
* Exceptional communication skills (writing, listening, presenting)
* Strong attention to detail
