Position: Senior Web Application Developer
Location: Washington, DC (downtown)
Position Summary:

What You’ll Be Doing:
• Implement and integrate user-interface design layouts in development environment – essentially, connect the front-end UI to the back-end
• Implement layouts in dynamic front-end language
• Create dynamic prototypes based on design documents
• Advise the user experience design team of development impact of design options
• Debug and optimize front-end code and layout
What You Need:
• 5+ years of hand-on web development experience for large-scale web sites/applications
• BS/MS in Computer Science or related field
• Working knowledge with programming languages such as Java, JSP, JSTL and XML
• Experience consuming web services using implementation libraries such as Apache Axis 2.0
• Experience using Light Application Frameworks such as Spring or Struts 2.0
• Experience using Application servers like Apache Tomcat, Jboss, Weblogic or Websphere
• Working knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript and industry standards
• Experience implementing AJAX-enabled features and JSON
• Working knowledge of JavaScript framework such as Prototype.js, jQuery, et al
• Working knowledge of Map APIs (e.g. Google, Yahoo, Map24, etc..) and integrating into a web application
• Familiarity with XML and XSLT
• Familiarity with version control systems
• Familiarity with an ORM framework such as Hibernate
• Working knowledge of Adobe products such as one or more of the following: Photoshop, Fireworks, Illustrator, InDesign
• Familiarity with Flash and ActionScript
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong ability to work and converse intelligently with User-Interface Designers, Product Managers, Application Architects and Engineers
