The Huffington Post Investigative Fund, an independent nonprofit online journalism venture based in D.C., has openings this spring for journalism students eager for experience and who are eligible for academic credit for unpaid internships.

We’re looking for young people with a strong interest in working on a new model for investigative journalism that melds the best of traditional media with the tools of the Web. Candidates should have excellent academic credentials as well as some experience in reporting and/or multimedia production. We are looking for students who can work about 15 hours a week. Ability to navigate social media websites--like Twitter, Facebook and Digg-- is a plus but not required. We are looking for interns who are enthusiastic and have a deep interest in the following positions:

*REPORTING*
Reporting interns will be working the phones, researching, working directly with reporters and helping with all aspects of Web production. Students with previous internships and writing experience are preferred. This is a chance to collaborate and contribute to investigative web journalism.

*PUBLISHING*
Business and publicity interns will write press releases, help with outreach, conduct donor/fundraiser research and take on administrative tasks. This is a chance to think big about how to approach nonprofit journalism.

*MULTIMEDIA*
Our multimedia interns research stories, shoot interviews/b-roll, and edit photos/video. Knowledge of Final Cut Pro, Photoshop, and other audiovisual software is a plus but not required. This is ideal for an ambitious young journalist looking to learn about new forms of multimedia reporting.

Prospective interns should respond to this ad with their resume and cover letter. Please put the position you are seeking in the subject line.
