Online curriculum developer seeks Writer for one-time project (40 hours per week) from May through August 31, 2008). Hourly rate is $35–$50 depending on credentials and experience. Both part-time and full-time positions are available.
The online writer for High School Fine Arts will create and write lessons for K12’s online curriculum as directed. The writer works closely with development team members, notably the Content Specialist, and the Instructional Designer to create learning activities.
Applicant should have:
• Advanced degree in art history or art education with significant teaching or writing experience. (Bachelor’s degree acceptable if accompanied by significant teaching or writing experience in high school art.)
• Experience in online teaching and writing preferred.
• Familiarity with national standards in the field and with current trends in methodology.
• Positive approach to solving problems.
• Ability to work both independently and as a team member in a fast-paced environment.
The applicant must:
1) Be proficient with Microsoft Office suite.
2) Have his or her own computer and stable broadband Internet access for creation and transmission of materials.
3) Be able to meet aggressive deadlines.
4) Be willing to learn new technologies and workflow systems including K12 models for storyboards, activities, exercises, and assessments for online writing.
5) Be responsive to constructive feedback.
Note that these online writing tasks may be combined with offline writing duties (as assigned).
