For Sale:

(1) McIntosh MX-110 tube preamplifier - tuner. It is a Z-series model, which is later than the X and M series. The Z series has the design updates and improvements over original older series. It is an audiophile preamp with built-in FM tuner.

It is in very good working condition. It can tune tough FM stations in my area.

The preamp section works nicely. It had some static in right channel, but I replaced the 6U8 tube and it cleaned right up. Original owner had a few tubes and caps replaced a few years back by local McIntosh tech. There is a subtle bit of hum at very high volume levels. At normal listening levels, it isn't apparent.

These sell for $1100 - $1600 on ebay and other audiophile websites. Many buy them for high $-hundreds ($700 - $900) in non-working condition and then get them refurbed. This one works and looks very good RIGHT NOW !!

I will sell for the first serious $1,050 cash.

Buyer can listen to it before buying.

I would like to find someone who can install a new (larger) drive provided by me, and transfer my programs and settings from the dying drive. I have done a TIVO upgrade myself before, so do not attempt to snow me technically.

You pick up the unit and the replacement drive from my Rockville Pike apartment building (a block and a half north of White Flint Metro). Move the data off the old drive, install the new, deliver back within 3 days, warrant for 30 days. I am willing to pay $60-$80 for this service.
