What kind of DJ team do you want for your event? Well, it really depends on what type of event you’re having, what kind of atmosphere you’re trying to create, and what you expect from your DJ team.
You can start with something as simple as the DJ’s name. Does it sound like they’re trying to appear cool with names like Rap or Hip-Hop artists? Does it sound cheesy or juvenile? Is that what you want? If yes then there is no need to talk to us. Also, does the fee the DJ is charging sound too good to be true. It takes at-least a few hundred dollars for a quality DJ/MC just to break even. I wonder what you get for a DJ that is is just breaking even. I can tell you right up front; we are on the low-end price-wise of the professional reliable DJs but there are cheaper. If price is your only criteria then keep shopping, but I must add "Caveat Emptor" - let the buyer beware. Next, talk to the DJ team via email and on the phone. Do they sound like they know what they’re doing? Do they sound like they’ll be helpful in planning and orchestrating your event and not just acting like an ipod? Is that important to you? If yes, then we're still in the game. Finally, if possible, meet face-2-face with your DJ team. Are you comfortable with them and confident they will provide the service you’re looking for? Do they appear to be able to make the kind of impression that your guests will appreciate. Did you learn anything at your meeting? Are these things important to you? If yes, we need to talk. We're Power Pirate, an electronic rock band from D.C. looking to network in our area and spread our music around. We will be releasing an album in January, and are looking for ways to fund our album production. While we have in the past year been playing more-or-less strictly at music venues, we have experience playing at parties with teenagers and small children (references available on request). If your child or relative is in need of entertainment for their birthday party, bat/bar mitzvah, or event, drop us a line and we'll see if we can work something out. Mariachi Estrellas offers several types of programs appropriate for schools, offices and government agencies that are both fun and educational.
