JOB SUMMARY:

The Business Analyst (BA)/Technical Writer (TW) will work as a member of an application development team specifically focused on a SharePoint solution, gathering and documenting requirements, writing technical documentation, and testing web-based applications.

The Analyst/Writer will facilitate the requirements gathering sessions with stakeholders and business users. The BA/TW will need to focus on keeping the sessions on track, ensuring issues are captured, and drawing use case diagrams and process diagrams to capture information from the meeting. The BA/TW will be in charge of transforming notes into more detailed supporting requirements documents including requirements traceability matrices, functional specifications for development, and test plans.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Review business rules, requirements, and high-level use cases to get up to speed on Client’s needs to effectively facilitate requirement gathering.
Lead requirement elicitation/gathering meetings and Joint Application Development (JAD) sessions with Clients including stakeholders, business unit owners, and end users
Translation of business rules into functional specifications for development
Provide functional analysis, design process and use case documents, and software development lifecycle documents.
Write and maintain software development lifecycle documentation including Requirements, Requirements Traceability Matrix, Test Plans, and End-User and Training documentation.
Write and Execute Software Quality Assurance (QA) testing plan as required
Conduct training sessions for end users
Conduct meetings, document notes and discussions, and identify documentation requirements throughout all types of interactions with customers.
REQUIREMENTS:

Knowledge Skills and Abilities:

Working knowledge and understanding of Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007/ Windows SharePoint Services 3.0 capabilities and functionality. In addition, the ability to map client business needs to SharePoint functionality.
Understanding of high level use cases and requirements documents.
Initiative, organization and attention to detail.
Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
Ability to aggressively yet diplomatically drive issues to closure across multiple teams.
Strong functional analysis skills and the ability to quickly get an end-to-end view of the business requirements and systems architecture.
Knowledge of business intelligence technology and concepts is important.
Knowledge of SDLC and techniques of implementing new processes is preferred.
Knowledge of CMMI, CPIC, and EPLC are a plus.
Knowledge of National Institutes of Health (NIH) is a plus.
Experience and Education:

3+ years experience as a Requirements Analyst
Candidates with SharePoint experience a must
Technical Writing
Software Application testing
Experience with Requirement Gathering and Testing Tools
Knowledge and/or experience with HHS or the National Institutes of Health (NIH) is a plus.
Specific experience working in the Microsoft .NET application development environment is a plus.
BS/BA, or higher, is required
