Position Description

Guide children through their after-school adventures. No glorified babysitting - Staff work closely with other team members to ensure that each child is learning, laughing, growing and achieving his/her personal best. If you embrace challenges, have interests in sports, the arts, or even an academic area, and can’t wait to share your interests and excitement with kids, this is the position for you.

Qualifications

Teachers, Graduate Students, Para-Educators, and Education Undergraduates encouraged to apply.

Ability to stimulate a child’s mind and create opportunities for enrichment that are both fun and educational.

Demonstrated leadership skills and experience working with school-aged children (ages 5 – 14)

Ability to respond effectively in a crisis situation and to utilize universal precautions to ensure the safety of children, other staff members, and guests.

Ability to communicate effectively (both verbal and written) with children, their families, program guests, and other staff members.

Hours

This is a part-time hourly position: 2:20 PM – 6:45 PM; occasional extra hours for school ˝ days and full-day school closings.
