We are seeking a seasoned international HR professional to help manage all HR functions related to Abt's International Line of Business (ILOB), comprised of approximately 600 employees in 35 countries.

Specific responsibilities include:
• Helping to manage all job requisitions and job offers, for US-based and international employees
• Providing reliable and timely advice related to employment issues at existing and pending international sites; ensure compliance with US and international labor laws and US Federal Government contractor requirements.
• Working with employees and managers to provide tools and guidelines for international operations including labor law summaries, employment agreements, benefit summaries and compensation guidelines.
• Providing accurate and timely responses to questions and concerns generated by employees and managers in the ILOB.
• Working to help develop training and professional development models and tools for US and international staff
• Helping to manage all employee relations issues related to the ILOB including conducting audits and investigations as necessary.
• Reviewing and recommending improvements to Abt's HR policies, procedures, and practice.
• Helping to successfully onboard and retain employees at all levels.
• Working with other members of the HR team (Compensation, HRIS, Recruiting, etc) to offer top notch HR support.
• May manage an HR Generalist and/or HR Coordinator
Limited international travel required.

Skills:

Must be exceptionally organized and proactive; able to multitask and handle competing priorities, while maintaining a professional relationship with all levels of employees. Must be an expert communicator with the ability to explain complex concepts in simple terms, and the ability to present controversial topics before an audience.

A bachelors degree in HR or business, along with 8 - 10 years of related experience. Ideally looking for a person with strong US HR Generalist experience, as well as significant international exposure. Strong business acumen and strong judgment required.

Preference for candidates with language skills and experience in at least some of the following areas:
• Supporting USAID or other donor based international projects
• Working for a professional services / consulting organization
• Managing a small team.
• Supporting non-US offices and local employees
• Supporting US-based expatriate employees
• Knowledge of US work authorization regulations and visa applications
