Our client is a leading HR Solutions provider whose nationwide clients come to them for leading HR services in the areas of recruitment, payroll, benefits and employee relations services.
Located in Rockville, they currently have a great opportunity for a Payroll Technician to join their payroll division. The Payroll Processor will be assigned a sub group of our clients to process their Payroll. You will be called upon to utilize your superior customer service and data entry skills. Essential duties and responsibilities:
• Accurately process all assigned client payrolls in a timely fashion from timesheet processing to check printing.
• Set up new employees in payroll system. Must understand payroll laws and taxes for multiple states.
• Will be main point-of-contact for clients and handle any client issues. Coordinate weekly timesheet receipts, ensure follow-up calls as needed to clients, and ensure all payroll-related issues or inquiries are resolved in an appropriate, courteous, knowledgeable, and timely manner. Able to escalate problems to the proper department in a timely manner.
Requirements:
• Must have 2 years of full life cycle payroll experience from initial employee set up to timesheet processing to check printing.
• A thorough understanding of full-cycle payroll and tax laws. Ability to read w-4 forms. Understanding of benefits and garnishments.
• Superior customer service, communications and critical thinking skills are essential. As you will be in constant contact with clients, excellent written and oral communication skills are a must. Should be comfortable on the phone.
• Unparalleled work ethics – must be willing to work until the job is done.
• High School diploma or equivalent. Associates degree preferred.
As this is a fast-paced environment, job duties will carry a great sense of urgency with no room for error. Must be able to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
