An expert in installation, configuration, troubleshooting, and maintaining a database system; have solid experience with implementing, configuring, and troubleshooting database instances, replication, backup, partitions, storage, and access. Responsibilities Include:
• Responsible for providing day-to-day support and maintenance for key Oracle databases and services of our enterprise application platform
• Monitor database events and proactively optimize system performance using index tuning, disk optimization, and other methods.
• Work with the team to automate reactive procedures where possible, and to promote rapid response to known issues
• Work with other teams to promote changes to production and other environments
• Accountable for maintaining database configurations in compliance with established best practices
• Oversee data fixes for business issues or to address application issues
• Accountable for proper backup and disaster recovery procedures
• Work in conjunction with other IT, application development, and business groups to understand functionality, scalability, performance, security, and integration requirements from the database perspective
• Develop and maintain an in depth understanding of the database architecture and the general application functionality used to maintain data integrity
Requirements:
• 5+ years Oracle Database Administrator experience
• 5+ years Technical Support Experience
• Knowledge of Oracle 9i & 10g
• Knowledge of Oracle RAC is preferred
• Knowledge of Microsoft Windows 2000/2003 and Microsoft IIS is preferred
• Independent position requires excellent organizational skills
• Ability to multi-task
• Team player
• College degree or equivalent work experience
