The area's most dynamic independent retail group is looking for an IT Administrator to oversee our computer network and Point of Sale systems. This position holds responsibility for the entire Conscious Corner network, encompassing six businesses in two locations (Clarksville and Olney)..
In addition to possessing the required technical skills, the ideal candidate would support the "green" lifestyle and be able to function effectively in the fast-paced atmosphere of a retail environment. Excellent organizational and communication skills are vital, along with the ability to pay great attention to details, task management, priorities and timelines. Candidates must be able to accept input from multiple sources and prioritize their time effectively.
Hardware / Network Administration
Management, maintenance and troubleshooting of:
Network infrastructure, including servers, workstations, firewalls, switches,
printers, fax machines, etc.
System backups and virus protection
Active Directory, Exchange Server and Postini
Planning for and implementing growth
Providing User support, policies and procedures
Roots Market Point of Sale Management
Develop thorough knowledge of Roots Market POS system
- assist in troubleshooting issues at registers
- cashier and manager procedures
- understanding of how to resolve common situations
- liaise with vendor for software issue resolution
- product and customer maintenance, shelf tags, store signage
- running reports, data management and analysis
- system hardware: scanners, scales, pin pads, etc.
Knowledge of SQL or basic relational database structure helpful
Websites / Newsletters
E-newsletter mailing list maintenance
Provide support for each business’ E-NL: Roots, Nest, Bark, Sage
Website hosting and site development / maintenance
Maintain Intranet / Online Forms
Management of DNS (MX and A Records) and Domain Registration
Requirements
Great attention to detail, task management, priorities and timelines
Ability to learn new software and hardware with ease
Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Illustrator, html (preferred)
Knowledge of Microsoft Windows XP Pro & Server, basic pc, printer and network
hardware, Active Directory, Exchange, DNS, DHCP
Excellent communication and organizational skills
Excellent troubleshooting and problem solving skills
Ability to work smoothly under pressure
