A Washington DC Metro IT Services provider is currently interviewing Sr. Web User Interface Developers for a full time position working on a Bio Informatics Application at the National Institutes of Health. In this position you will be required to interact with our customers to design and implement user friendly, feature-filled interfaces for a Laboratory Information Management Systems using Web 2.0 technologies. The successful candidate must possess the following skill set:
Required Skill Sets:
• Minimum of 8 years of technical, web development, and hands-on-code experience
• Strong, demonstrate-able Java skills (Java 7+ experience necessary)
• Full understanding of J2EE application lifecycle and front-end programming technologies (Servlets, JSP, and JSF) required
• Strong JavaScript client-side development skills particularly with the development of object-oriented JavaScript code with an understanding of using JavaScript to manipulate the HTML-DOM of target browsers. Experience with AJAX a necessity
• Demonstrable experience with XHTML/CSSP for creation of standardized, well-formatted web interfaces
• Experience with Asynchronous and Service Oriented Architectures/Web Services
• Web Server or J2EE Application Server experience, specifically Tomcat or JBoss
• Development in mixed environment of Windows and Linux.
• Mastery of CSS, JSP, Java, HTML/DHTML/XHTML, AJAX, Web 2.0,and Javascript
• Page flows
• JSR 168
• Experience with 508 Compliance
• Spring MVC
• Knowledge of browser/platform compatibility issues
• Be able to provide oral and written status to project lead and management
• Be able to recommend best approaches for developing complex user interactions focusing on application performance
• Bachelors Degree or higher in Computer Science, EE, or other technical field preferred
Additional Nice To Have Skills:
• Bioinformatics experience or significant experience in other complex scientific domain
• Portal development, Graphics/Photoshop a plus
