NEW DBR X6 6" travel Freeride bike S/M frame XT - $799 (Herndon)
OVER $2000 invested in building up this bike, then I quit riding due to a back injury.
Take the world's best selling and most efficient suspension design, the Specialized FSR 4 bar linkage (which has been licensed to Intense for the M1) and upgrade the frame by widening the rear triangle so you can fit a larger tire and use cartridge bearings instead of cheap plastic elastomers and you have the basis for a killer Free-ride or light Downhill DH bike: The Diamondback Racing X6. This bike is not for spandex clad XC riders.
I bought the frame new from A1 in Herndon. I built it up with a 2002 Rock Shox Boxxer 6" travel front, 6" Fox Vanilla RC rear. with MRP spring, Chris King head set. Easton 2" rise EA70 Monkey bars. Hayes DH F&R 8" and 6" hydraulic discs, Mavic 521 rims on Hayes/ODI, Shimano XT rear and LX front d/r, Shimano XT shifters, ODI lock on grips. I have plain platform, but NO CLIPLESS PEDALs. Comes with a 20 mm fork-up for mounting to your Thule velo-vise type rack.
That's a lot of bike for under $800. Most parts are BRAND NEW, with 3 short test rides to dial in the bike. You couldn't buy the parts used for this much WITHOUT the frame.
Again, NO clipless PEDALS.
The price is FIRM and not all negotiable as currently set up. However, if you have a fork or some other part that you'd like to put on the bike, I will subtract for that ($100 for fork, or substitute a Marzocchi Z1 Freeride).
