Delivery Route Supervisor Responsibilities:
• Directly responsible for supervision of drivers, including scheduling, corrective actions and other related issues.
• Plans routes and schedule drivers on a daily basis.
• Responds to customer inquiries, special requests, or complaints.
• Performs route audits to insure safe and efficient procedures are followed and identify possible training needs. Completes employee observation reports and discusses results with drivers.
• Coaches and develops each driver by demonstrating skills and route riding on regular basis.
• Develops a relationship with our current customers and their staff to provide great customer service and create the potential of business growth through adding products in that account.
• Continues to look for new accounts.
• Develops work schedules. May also plan routes to provide the most efficient service to our customers.
• Responds to driver needs in the field.
• Responsible for the timely communication, correction, and follow up of customer service related issues.
• Maintain adherence to Company policy in regards to operations and safety issues.
• Run a route as needed.
• Ensures compliance with any DOT regulations.
Job Requirements:
• College degree preferred
• Bread industry experience is preferred but not mandatory.
• DSD Operations experience.
• Previous management experience.
• Experience selling at store level.
• Ability to work varying schedules including early morning hours.
• Knowledge of word, excel and Power Point.
Qualifications:
- 5 to 8 years of experience in the Food & Beverage industry, primarily in the regional sales/broker management area
- Position will require an extensive knowledge in the Food & Beverage industry
- Proven ability to manage Route Drivers & Route Delivers
- Strong time management, problem solving, and organizational skills
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Proficient computer skills e.g. internet, Excel Spreadsheets, MS Office Programs, presentations, and order entry.
- Experience with corporate accounts
- Experience working with distributors required
