Hi, I'm looking to hire a web designer for the development of two interrelated websites:
1) Professional biographical website. This would define who and what I am professionally -- by providing my professional biography, links to my published work, etc.
2) Blog.
I don't think I'm looking for anything too particular, just a basic Word Press blog and website with standard features. However, aesthetics -- design and look -- are VERY important to me. I want these sites to look sharp and professional, and to project a serious-minded, all-American image.
Also looking for a flat-rate fee (as opposed to an hourly fee) for each site or both sites. I expect to pay $400-$1,000 for this entire project. I'll need you to teach me how to administer, maintain and build these sites.
I can provide you with a detailed list of specs that I'm looking to fulfill; however, I need you to tell me what I am missing, and what I features and capabilities I should add to these sites. More importantly, I'm looking for your design sense. For example, I need a banner or header that will hold each site together and give the site cohesion and focus. This banner or header need not be fancy or elaborate; however, it does need to be created.
I've placed an ad before and got inundated with responses. Having technical skills is important; but equally important is having a design sense. Please send links to some of the websites and/or blogs that you have designed and built.
Thanks for your interest in this work; I look forward to hearing from you and then to getting these sites done, up and running.
