Boat People SOS, Inc. (BPSOS) is a national community-based organization serving primarily Vietnamese-American refugees and immigrants with program ranging from community development to legal services. Through its 11 branches, BPSOS provides a web of services to support individuals, families, and communities.
The Managing Attorney is responsible for managing and developing the legal aspects of BPSOS programs including the Community Against Domestic Violence, Victims of Exploitation and Trafficking Assistance, Immigration Service Centers and Disaster Relief, and serves as the managing attorney for Staff Attorneys, providing direct supervision and training.
Primary responsibilities include:
1. Assist in the recruiting and hiring of Staff Attorneys;
2. Provide training, supervision and support of all Staff Attorneys;
3. Assist in the supervision and training of Immigration Service Center personnel;
4. Provide program and financial management support for all legal services grant programs;
5. Assist in the development, revision and implementation of legal policies, procedures, and protocols for the Agency programs;
6. Assist in the development of legal, immigration and naturalization programs for branches;
7. Collaborate with Professional Services Management team in program development and implementation;
8. Provide legal caseload support for Staff Attorneys as necessary;
9. Develop the BPSOS Pro Bono Attorney Program;
Requirements:
1. Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school is required;
2. Admission to practice law in any state in the US is required;
3. Three or more years experience in US immigration law is required;* candidates not meeting the 3 years US immigration law experience will not be considered.
4. Experience with victims of trauma (domestic or family violence, sexual assault, or human trafficking, refugees and asylum seekers) is required;
5. Experience in supervision is required;
6. English fluency is required; Vietnamese fluency desired.

Salary: Salary is dependent upon experience plus full benefits.
