The Picture People is a specialty portrait studio focused on creating memories. By producing professional, creative and fun portraits and one-of-a-kind gifts that highlight what makes each family member unique, we've changed the face of portraits across America. We have over 170 studios located across the nation, and we are always looking for highly qualified candidates to come work with us.

We currently have openings for senior photographers for our local studios in Dulles (Dulles Town Center-Studio #198) and Hyattsville (Prince George's Plaza-Studio #109).

Job Responsibilities
• Full Time-Non Exempt- 40 hour work week
• Majority of the time is spent conducting photography sessions
• Evaluates, critiques, trains and instructs photography
• Maintains all equipment (e.g., Lights, Cameras & Printer)
• General studio functions such as Opening and Closing, Banking, Selling, POS, Servicing all customer needs, Housekeeping, Assigned duties (e.g., workflow, associate duties)
• Quality of portraits; produces high quality portraits and monitors the quality for the studio’s photography
• Participates in the creation of studio photography
• Ensures printer is maintained at company standard by completing daily/weekly/monthly maintenance
• Ensures lights, cameras, backdrops and props are in pristine condition and set to company dictated settings/standards
• Instruction, mentoring, critiquing and coaching all photographers in location

Qualifications
• Minimum of two years experience with The Picture People or another volume portrait studio; or degree from accredited photography program
• Conducted or participated in 1,000 photography sessions
• Good employment standing
• Demonstrates understanding ability to apply principles of teaching
• Has completed and passed the 100 series of Photography College courses
• Submitted and has received approval of portraits demonstrating application in positioning, posing, lighting and composition
• Understands and applies principles of posing and the photography fundamentals
• Proficient and skilled in post production software utilized by The Picture People
