REGISTRATION COORDINATOR

OVERVIEW
Not-for-profit trade association in Herndon Virginia is seeking a Registration Coordinator. As a member of the Programs Department, this position is responsible for all event registration setup and processing, sponsorship coordination and event planning for assigned events. This is a great opportunity to enter the not-for-profit arena if you are not already working in this environment. To be successful in this position, you must be a detail oriented, highly organized, multi-talking team player with strong oral and written communication skills. You must have excellent customer service skills with the ability to work in a fast pace environment. Responsibilities include processing event registrations, contacting sponsors for registrant names, preparing meeting/event materials for assigned events, invoicing sponsors and posting event information to our website. Coordinate logistics for assigned Committee events, including working with on-site managers, catering, and on-site assistance.

There may be additional tasks as assigned. This person must be comfortable communicating with V.I.P. level members. The Registration Coordinator must attend some events, including early mornings and occasional late evenings and have a somewhat flexible work schedule. The successful candidate must understand the importance of accuracy in data entry along with some basic accounting experience/skills. This position reports to the Director of Programs & Events. This position can either be an ideal entry level position for someone wanting to start in the meeting and event planning arena or it can be a seasoned position for someone that enjoys meeting and event registration coordination.

REQUIREMENTS
Experience with databases, preferably iMIS, comfortable working in a Microsoft Office environment (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), possess strong oral and written communication skills, highly motivated, some good basic accounting skills, and a positive attitude are required. The candidate MUST be detail oriented and take pride in performing their job with speed and accuracy.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
A bachelor’s degree in preferred or minimally, an associate’s degree.

The salary range is $30,000-$35,000 annually, depending on experience.
