Central Fairfax Services, Inc. (CFS) is a day support program providing services to adults with intellectual and related disabilities located in Springfield, VA. CFS is seeking a full time Assistant Program Manager.
GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES: Serves in an assistant capacity to the Program Manager, and acts as a senior staff member in the assigned department. Serves in an acting capacity in the absence of the Program Manager; supervises consumer activities.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Serve as an assistant to the Program Manager.
Serve in an acting capacity in the absence of the Program Manager.
Assist in the coordination of production activities, as required.
Assess and evaluate assigned consumers on skills and behaviors in conjunction with the Program Manager, Program Coordinator, and other staff.
Train and support staff on goals and objectives as stated in Individual Program Plans.
Be responsible to the Program Manager for record keeping and documentation including, but not limited to, evaluation/assessment reports, instructional and behavioral programs, progress reports, annual staffing, production data, incident reports, medication, attendance, etc., in a confidential and proper manner.
Establish/maintain communication with parents, guardians, residential counselors regarding consumer's progress, scheduling, community activities, illness, incidents, etc.
Provide active involvement in all daily group and individual areas including, but not limited to, community integration, training, hygiene, leisure, vocational, communication, mobility, behavior, toileting, food preparation, cleaning, bus loading/unloading, medication, lunch supervision, the need for substitutions and schedule coordination.
Promote a safe, clean, and orderly environment.
Encourage staff compliance with organizational policies and procedures. Reports infractions as necessary.
Demonstrate appropriate behavior management techniques.
Participate in department, consumer, and staff committee meetings.
Demonstrate proper lifting, feeding, and transferring techniques.
Assist Program Manager in the training, scheduling, etc., of staff.
Other related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Required: Bachelor's degree in related field (a combination of equivalent education, experience, certificates, skills, and training may be substituted for the bachelor’s degree); experience working with adults with developmental disabilities; physical ability to assist clients with toileting, mobility, transferring, etc., as well as lifting production materials and equipment up to 30 pounds; relates well to people with disabilities.
Preferred: post graduate courses; advanced training; supervisory experience; eligible for CFS driver's insurance.
