Job Summary:
The Director, State Secondary Initiatives will serve as the primary contact with secondary school systems at the state level. This person will establish relationships with state officials with the goal that the states secondary schools will participate in the services provided by the non-profit. Most of the business activities will be conducted by personal contact (telephone, email, or on location). The position will also be expected to make presentations at appropriate state or national conferences, travel will be required.
This is a SERI funded position for 18 months and may continue beyond the SERI project.
Position Responsibilities:
Position may be required to perform other duties as required.
Serve as the primary contact for state secondary school systems.
Effectively develop and maintain state secondary school systems client relationships.
Develop long-term customer relations strategic plan
Act as spokesperson, making presentations and participating on panels at industry seminars and state/national conferences.
Attend industry conferences at the national, regional and state levels.
Assist Regional Directors in marketing products and services to secondary education systems via introductions, meetings, and presentations.
Coordinate and document implementation issues for secondary school systems.
Work with Secondary Systems Data Specialist to foster successful submission of new clients data.
Effectively interact with user client base to accurately and timely identify problems and issues of customer service and to ensure that they are communicated to and resolved by the appropriate personnel.
Arrange service contracts between non-profit and state educational organizations.
Qualifications:
Minimum 3-5 years experience in secondary education administration, education services, or education finance (e.g. superintendent or state secondary education administrator)
10+ years experience working with states secondary school systems
Minimum 3-5 Experience negotiating contracts with educational organizations
Demonstrated professional written, verbal and presentation skills
Recognized as informed and respected within the secondary education community
Familiarity with secondary data and reporting to state agencies and other organizations
Experience in sales, sales management or sales support preferred
Masters degree required
