The American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) is seeking a high-performing Program Assistant with a minimum of 1-2 years related office experience to provide program assistance and support to the Cancer Policy & Clinical Affairs Department’s Practice Division on electronic health record (EHR) initiatives, Journal of Oncology Practice activities, regulatory issues, and outreach initiatives. In addition, the Program Assistant will assist in staffing committees and meetings, and provide general programmatic and administrative support. Successful candidates will be comfortable with multi-tasking in a fast-paced and professional environment while possessing a strong and committed work ethic.
Responsibilities include:
• Provide staff support for committee and divisional meetings, working with staff and volunteers
• Schedule meetings and conference calls; prepare materials, including PowerPoint Presentation slides, draft meeting minutes, and assist with travel arrangements
• Support the development of practice management educational products and tools
• Assist with Electronic Health Records (EHR) initiatives and maintain vendor relations
• Support the division in developing outreach initiatives for mid-level providers and practice administrator communities
• Perform a broad range of programmatic and administrative functions including conducting research, maintaining website pages, expense tracking, and maintaining correspondence and filing systems
To qualify for this position, the candidate must possess:
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications; experience with Access-based databases
• Professional communication skills, including oral, written, and listening
• Exceptional interpersonal and relationship building skills; team-oriented
• Excellent organizational skills, with superb attention to detail
• Able to take initiative and provide appropriate follow up
The ideal candidate will also possess:
• Bachelor’s degree in public policy or a health related field
• Previous experience working in an association or health care setting
