This new headquarters will serve as a gathering place for the street team!

What kinds of things might you be asked to do to help? It could be as simple as purchasing and wearing a stylish street team t-shirt or, depending on your level of interest, as involved as going door to door in your neighborhood to rally support for Barack Obama! Or, if you have a new idea that might help swing the vote, the young staff at the headquarters would be excited to talk to you and help you turn your dreams into reality.

Things you might do to help:
-Encourage your friends and other young voters in your community to become registered voters, and provide them with voter registration forms.
-Help design and model street team t-shirts and other gear.
-Use the campaign office computers to input crucial data.
-Make phone calls to local voters encouraging them to support Barack Obama.
-Post Obama '08 fliers and signs around your community.
-Cook a lunch or dinner for those putting in long hours at the campaign office.
-Pass out fliers containing information about Obama's stance on youth-related issues at shows and social events at the Good Karma Center, Daily Grind, Sterling Community Center, 80's night...wherever you and your friends like to spend time!
-Run errands to office supply stores, etc to keep the campaign office stocked with everything they need for highly efficient daily operation.
-Pledge to form a street team chapter at your school this fall.
-Write letters to the editor of the Winchester Star, Northern Virginia Daily, Clarke County Courier, or another local paper encouraging young locals to support Obama.
-Recruit local campaign volunteers.
-Simply help out around the headquarters: filing paperwork, making signs, answering phones, cleaning out the fridge...it's often the most mundane tasks that prove to be the most helpful!
-Come up with new ideas that you think will help to make a difference!

I watched his 'photo shoot' in Iraq, this guy is so stuck on himself, I'm amazed his head fit in his 'Obama.com plane'.

I heard him say that, 'as chief in command' I will blah blah blah,..then he caught himself and said, 'if I become chief in command'

He then said, 'these are the people I will be talking to for the next 8-10 years'...duh! When did a term go from 4 years to 8-10? Where the hell did he get 10?!!

Out of the '57 states' that he has toured, would you not assume this man knew (not only how many states we have) but how long a Presidential term was?

US Strategic Command and the US Army Birthday.

The birthday of the U.S. Air Force is September 18, 1947...all retirees, veterans, active duty, reserve and guard personnel were invited to the Air Force birthday celebration on all Air Force bases.

As an "Air Force" brat representing my father, brother, uncle and cousins who served in the Air Force... I always attend the USAF birthday celebration.

I served in the US Army for 30 years. But, when the Army birthday rolls around on June 14th of each year, that piece of shit Rummyfied US Strategic Command never invites the Army vets, guard or retirees...only their small contingency of Army personnel. Why is this, you ask?

Because StratCom and the US Army don't give a damn about their Army people. The Army plays the USAF soon and the Army-Navy game is coming up on December 6th. Wanna bet StratCom doesn't invite any Army people (vets, retirees or active) to watch the games?

Navy Admiral Timothy Keating and USAF SES Charles Carpenter should be FIRED by SecDef Gates for misleading Congress and moving NORAD above ground. This is just one more indication that the Rumsfeld joint military commands have outlived their mission and usefulness.

Add this Pentagon pork-barrel fiasco to Air Force "Wings" which have no aircraft, office buildings that are impossible to navigate without GPS, pilots wearing flightsuits to the office even though they have nothing to fly, billion-dollar planes that crash because they can't reset their own moisture sensors, out-of-control development programs that result in planes so expensive that only a handful can be acquired, Air Force "warfighters" in office jobs wearing BDUs to push paper, nuclear weapons flown across the country without clearance and so on.

The Army has more planes than the Air Force, the Navy has carrier wings, and the Marines have airplanes and jump jets, so who needs the Rumsfeld joint military commands like NorthCom and StratCom, and the US Air Force?

Better to disband NORAD, NorthCom and StratCom, and transfer the USAF to the Department of Transportation and use it to ferry troops around the globe. That is one thing they are good at, and their blue service dress "bus driver" uniforms already fit the role.
