Company Background:
Tellenger, Inc. is a business consulting firm that designs and develops custom web-based software apps. We do everything from complex, enterprise-level builds to traditional websites and even mobile technology. Our strength is connecting an organization’s business objectives with the right technology solution doing both the strategy and development. Founded in July 2007, we have multiple long-term government contracts as well as many private sector clients making for interesting and diverse work. Having doubled the annualized revenue for 2007 in 2008, we will double revenue again in 2009, and have contracts that will result in doubling revenues yet again in 2010. To continue our strong growth we need an Executive Tech Lead.
About the Position:
Initially, the Executive Tech Lead will serve both as a company executive and billable developer. This will require you to have a passion for technology, coding, and development processes as well as the business savvy for meeting client objectives, building our business, and managing others.
Short-term Vision for the Position:
• Help close deals with prospective clients by serving as a technology strategist
• Code smaller, short duration projects
• Hire developers for longer term projects
• Improve processes for providing consistently high quality deliverables

• Help lead the company
To meet our needs you must be experienced with:
1. Coding enterprise-level custom software applications
2. Structuring and redesigning databases
3. Analyzing and architecting systems
4. Coding either Java or .NET
5. Ability to do front-end coding (with 508 compliance)
6. Project management
7. Requirements gathering
8. Estimating the level of effort required to complete a project
9. Writing (such as proposals, white papers, briefs, etc.)
10. Client interaction
11. Hiring/firing experience
Requirements:
--U.S. citizen
--Experience hiring developers and other technical staff
--Expertise accurately scoping out the level of effort (hours required) to complete technology projects
--Experience leading client meetings (needs to be able to gain the trust and confidence of the client)
--Full SDLC experience
--Must have worked on numerous government and/or large enterprise projects
--Exceptional coding and database skills (initially you'll be building complete systems)
Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
--Code a back-end system (including designing an Oracle or MS SQL database)
--Code a front-end of a website (potentially)
--Listen to client challenges and know which technologies could resolve those challenges (without being locked into any personal technology preferences)
--Conduct research and substantiate recommendations with business-goal-oriented reasoning
--In consult with engagement managers and team members, generate estimates for delivering proposed technical solutions
--Communicate — both in writing and verbally — recommendations to team members and clients alike in a succinct, actionable way
--Identify new areas of opportunity for Tellenger and its clients to explore technologically to address business challenges and facilitate growth
Ancillary Responsibilities:
In addition to building software that improves the effectiveness and efficiency of organizations you will play a role in shaping Tellenger’s future:
• Brainstorm ways of improving processes, products, and client services
• Innovate better ways of doing business
• Participate in business strategy sessions
Salary:
$110k and up depending on experience
