We are currently searching for an experienced Small Engine Mechanic to work in our production oriented shop in Chantilly, VA. This is a brand new, clean, organized state-of-the-art facility. This position requires you to perform skilled work with minimal supervision, in maintaining the small engine equipment and other equipment (as needed).
The Small Engine Mechanic is also responsible for:
• Operate a variety of diagnostic instruments and hand, electric, and air tools in order to test, service and repair equipment.
• Inspect, adjust and replace necessary units and related parts in the performance of repair and maintenance work.
• Cut and weld metal and performs minor body repair, paint touch ups.
• Changes and repairs tires and tubes.
• Provides emergency field assistance to disabled equipment when needed.
Requirements for Small Engine Mechanic are:
• Five years of job experience.
• Must have a valid Virginia Driver License.
• Must provide own tools.
• Experience diagnosing and repairing small engines, including gas and two-cycle landscaping equipment (mowers, trimmers, edgers, blowers, etc.)
• Experience with Echo 2 Cycle and Exmark mowing equipment a plus.
• Ability to carry 50 lbs. and occasionally loads up to and including 100 lbs.
• Ability to bend, squat, reach above shoulder level, crouch, kneel, crawl, balance and push/pull equipment.
• Ability to climb up to 10 feet.
• Firm grasping/fine manipulation with the both hands is necessary, as well as repetitive movement of both feet.
• Ability to work safely around moving machinery; to work in conditions with marked changes in temperature & humidity; ability to drive automotive equipment; withstand exposure to dust, fumes, and gases. In an 8 hour day, the employee can expect to walk about 6 hours.
