We are looking for an Information Architect on a contract basis for one of our clients. What we really want is an IA that has come into a situation where an organizations websites have grown and changed without regard for usability. Our client needs someone who can come in, work with the internal stakeholders, and external customers, to help "clean up" their websites. We need someone who has done this before.
Responsibilities:
1. Create and maintain a consistent Web site architectural structure across the organization*s Web sites. (8 websites)
2. Ensure a consistent look and feel across the Web sites by developing and promoting a uniform Web branding strategy in collaboration with the marketing department.
3. Build templates and provide other technical support as required to support the developed IA for all sites already using the Click solution
4. Standardize and build templates for the line of business sites
5. Ensure content is consistent across sites by leveraging technology to post once yet display in multiple sites
6. Build out and incorporate the sub web site into the main organizational site
7. Analyze site traffic and tune content placement to reduce clicks
8. Provide guidance for appropriate presentation of content on websites
Skills:
1. Degree in the field of computer science or Web design/development
2. 5+ years building successful intranet, extranet, and internet sites
3. Vast experience in gathering and analyzing business requirements in order to meet strategic goals and development efforts
4. Excellent knowledge of Web platforms, technologies, protocols, and publishing tools
5. Working knowledge of SharePoint is nice to have
6. Strong understanding of communications, marketing, and customer service principles
7. Experience with computer graphic and multimedia design
8. Comprehensive experience with Web content management and web site optimization based on site traffic
9. Project management skills
10. Solid understanding of web strategies, presentation, and usage best practices
11. Strong persuasion skills
12. Excellent written, oral, communication and interpersonal skills
13. Ability to present ideas in business-friendly and user-friendly language
14. Highly self motivated and directed
15. Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
16. Able to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
17. Very strong customer service orientation
18. Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
19. Experience with section 508 and accessibility
