For the last few months we have had the pleasure of hosting guests from around the world who were here conducting business or attending meetings in Bethesda, and/or, visiting the DC area, or even relocating to the area. A number of them come back for repeat, short-term stays, while others moving to DC for a new job choose to stay here first as they hunt for their ideal permanent residence. The room books up fast, and with the exception of repeat guests it's first-come first-served, so the sooner you try to reserve it the better your chances of it being available. The apartment is in a great location--only a 5-minute walk to Bethesda's restaurants and fun shops, the south side of NIH (and the Natcher Conference Center in Building 45), a farmers market, and the Doubletree Hotel. It's a ~7-minute walk to the NIH metro and a ~10-minute walk to the Bethesda metro stop (both on the Red Line).

The room is spacious at 12' x 14', furnished, and carpeted. Though more expensive than its surroundings, there are several perks Bethesda has to offer over other areas. One is safety, something to consider because crime tends to increase during lean economic times such as these. Our neighborhood of Bethesda is probably the safest in the entire DC-area that is still metro accessible: the violent crime rate here is only 5.7% (~18x safer) of the DC area's rate and only 16% (~6x safer) of the national average's crime rate.
