Ayala and Associates a Public Accounting firm is currently seeking a dynamic candidate for the payroll department. We are looking for individuals who seek exciting, long-term career opportunities for growth and advancement.
-Responsible for processing payroll for a workforce of 1000+ employees
-Respond to field supervisor and employee questions regarding payroll and timekeeping issues.
-Review timesheets for accuracy and compliance with written policies and procedures, as well as defined Federal -and State wage and hour rules and regulations.
-Review timesheet reports for accuracy prior to paying period closure.
-Execute monthly reconciliations of payroll ledger accounts for compliance.
-Perform file maintenance for new hires, terminations, tax setup, and banking information in QuickBooks.
-Maintain files, reports, and records.
-Make government payments electronically
-Prepare and file annual form W-2's
-Prepare and file Quarterly 941's
-Prepare and file the annual form 940
-All other duties as assigned and required
-Proven experience as a payroll specialist or payroll manager
-Solid understanding of accounting fundamentals and payroll best practices
-Very good knowledge of legislation and regulations of the field
-Proficient in QuickBooks, Excel, Word, and good knowledge of relevant software (e.g. Certified Payroll ) and databases
-Trustworthy with attention to confidentiality
-Outstanding organizational ability with great attention to detail
-Excellent communication skills
-High school diploma or equivalent; BSc/BA in business, accounting or relevant field is a plus
-English and Spanish speaker is a must
