Up for grabs is an extremely lightweight bicycle from Open. The Open Mind California is a special version of the Open Mind, handmade out of California. The bike frame is finished with raw carbon, however, I had Toby Stanton cover it with clear coat to provide protection from scratches.
The bicycle is setup with the following components:
Campagnolo Ekar group set. (1x13). Carbon crankset with hydraulic brakes. Fitted with a quick detach brake line to make air travel easier.
Lightweight but stiff Roval carbon handlebars 42cm
Berk Carbon fiber saddle - small scratch from traveling.
DT Swiss 1600 wheelset
Included in the sale will be spacers to increase the height of the saddle. As well as the original starnut. Installed is an elongated starnut to allow playing around with height of the handlebars without damaging the carbon. If you cut the handlebars, using the smaller starnut would be recommended.
Now for why this bike is available for so cheap. While assembling the bike and inserting the cable guides, the bike shop chipped off part of the guide. I had the bike reviewed by Toby Stanton (Open and carbon fiber specialist) who mentioned this is a common occurrence with open frames, and could be repaired but it is not structural. But anyway, see attached images. Marked as good condition accordingly.
If there are any questions, definitely reach out. Also available for sale is a Extralite 339c wheelset customized with a DT Swiss 180 rear hub with a 54t ratchet for much better engagement compared to extralites hubs. If bought with the bike, I’d be willing to let these go for $1,000 ($2,500 for bike and extralite wheelset) Otherwise $1,500 for the wheelset.
