Adminstrative Assistant for Startup PR Agency (Petworth, NW, Washington DC)

compensation: Payments will occur on a per project basis - negotiable

We are seeking an Administrative Assistant to join our growing team! If you have the confidence to develop engaging content on multiple projects in the hospitality sector, this position may interest you.

The ideal applicant will serve as the powerhouse of the agency and sit on-site with the client while there is an opportunity to also work remotely. The Administrative Assistant will be knowledgeable on every project and serve as a resource for the agency. The individual will have a dual function to support the operations of the business.

Job Responsibilities

Must have a strong background in written and verbal communications
Has at least 3 years of experience handling communications or performing administrative duties
Confidently participates in weekly calls to discuss vision, goals, challenges, budgets, issues, etc.
Holds team to highest possible standards identifies areas for improvement and works with leadership to address
Responds either through email and phone to lead-generated from marketing campaigns
Consistent and strong social media presence is a plus
Able to meet varying deadlines and able to work with grace under pressure
Has worked in a customer service setting or a similar customer-facing job
Must have the ability to build rapport and use discretion
Research-driven and very organized, familiar with G Suite (Google docs, sheets, forms, etc)
Able to do basic accounting and data entry

Additional Skills

Open-mindedness to diverse groups, communities, and lifestyles a plus
Available at least 10-15 hours per week
Available to work on-site most of the time with the opportunity to work remotely at the discretion of management


Requires at least 3 years of experience handling customer service and administrative duties
At least 2 reference checks
Must submit resume and writing sample with application
Preferred: Bachelors degree in communications, psychology or social sciences
