One of DC's largest staffing firms, the Midtown Group, is looking for a proactive Recruiting Assistant to support a high-priority, 7-day project. This role is short-term, fast-paced, and requires strong organization, communication, and attention to detail. Potential for ongoing opportunities based on performance.
Role Overview
Position: Recruiting Assistant (7-day project)
Location: Onsite and based out of 1130 Connecticut Ave., NW.
Duration: 7 days with potential extension for successful candidates. Flexibility to work this upcoming weekend, 12/20 and 12/21, required.
Start Date: ASAP
Hours: 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. or so with some flexibility
Compensation: Competitive hourly rate, $25 to $30, commensurate with experience, plus completion bonus.
Key Responsibilities
Post job openings across designated platforms (e.g., job boards, LinkedIn, company career page)
Screen incoming resumes and applications for basic qualifications
Conduct brief, structured pre-screening calls or chats
Coordinate and schedule interviews with hiring managers
Maintain and update the applicant tracking system (ATS) with accuracy
Communicate with candidates professionally, providing timely status updates
Prepare candidate summaries and interview notes for hiring teams
Assist with offer letters and candidate onboarding checklists (where applicable)
Track metrics (response times, stage progression) and generate daily/weekly reports
Identify bottlenecks and propose process improvements to accelerate hiring
Required Qualifications
1–3 years of recruiting or talent acquisition support experience
Familiarity with applicant tracking systems (e.g., Bullhorn or strong aptitude to learn quickly).
Excellent written and verbal communication
Strong organizational and time-management skills
Ability to handle multiple tasks with speed and accuracy
Proactive, resourceful, and able to work independently
Basic knowledge of labor laws and compliance considerations (as applicable)
Availability to work on-site or remotely for the 7-day window
Desired Qualifications
Experience supporting urgent or high-volume recruitment campaigns
Background in tech, healthcare, sales, or other fast-moving industries
Comfortable with knock-out, pre-screening questionnaires, or structured interview templates
Basic data analysis skills to track progress (e.g., time-to-fill, response rate)
Required Deliverables
Daily candidate pipeline updates with status and next steps
10 high-potential candidates per role (or per the project scope)
Accurate ATS entries for all candidate interactions
Interview schedules coordinated and confirmed with all parties
Candidate communication templates tailored for the project
Final intake report summarizing challenges, bottlenecks, and recommended improvements
Work Style & Tools
Highly responsive, with availability for rapid communication
Comfortable with remote collaboration tools (Slack/Teams, Zoom)
Proficient with Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace
ATS and CRM familiarity or quick learner (training provided)
